Re: Question re Shark Steeper Motors
Or, stated another way, what if the amperage were 1.8? Do these motors require a precisely refined power source at exactly the rated amperage and will fail if fed anything above or below?

Re: Question re Shark Steeper Motors
Thanks, Tim. Follow up question: If you send 2.1 amps to this motor, will it burn out? Or is there some leeway in the amperage?

Question re Shark Steeper Motors
Does anyone know offhand what kind of stepper motors the Shark Pro has? I would like to know their rated amperage. Perhaps Tim could supply this information. Thanks.

Re: Shark Underpowered?
Well, I'm not an electrical engineer, either, but the power source is marked "24 volts" so to my admittedly uneducated mind would seem that however they are wired, there are three motors demanding 24 volts each . That's a total of 72 volts looking to be fed from one 24 volt power source. Other sourc...

Shark Underpowered?
The shark pro stepper drive motors are 24 volt. Since there are three of them the potential voltage required would be 72 But the power supply appears to be just 24 volts. Granted, it is unlikely that all three motors Would be simultaneously running flat out to demand ghat much voltage, shouldn't ther...

Re: Shark Quit--Anyone Have Same Prob?
A followup on my Shark failure. Last week I spoke with Chris at Rockler twice. He was incredibly patient and helpful as he guided me through a series of attempts to diagnose the problem. I loaded the software on two separate computers in an attempt to replicate the problem. During the process Chris ...

Re: Shark Quit--Anyone Have Same Prob?
Just remembered that the "pod" something file was apparently, from its name, some kind of compiler file. This error message has not reappeared, so I don't have the exact name.

Shark Quit--Anyone Have Same Prob?
Last night, in process of loading a .tap file, my shark pro just stopped working--with the panel displaying an error message: "Exception Access Violation in Module CNCSharkbasicpanel.exe at 0000422C in Module CNCSharkbasicpanel.exe read of addres 00000..." whatever that means. Then Windows 7 display...

Re: Shop Stool
Nice application. I noticed on your review posted on Rockler's site an editor's comment warning that your dust collection setup poses a danger of damage to the shark through static elec buildup and stress on the stepper motors induced by the drag weight/torque of the 4" vacuum hose. I have a similar...
