Re: THE NEW MAKO IS HERE!!!

Bob, It looks as if you have the perfect solution! WOW! $40 for an aluminum clamp is CHEAP! (especially when you think in terms of this would be considered a "custom pice!) I ordered two aluminum block clamps to go along with my water cooled spindle (I think they were $35~$50 each PLUS shipping from...

Re: THE NEW MAKO IS HERE!!!

router clamping solutions: smooth to smooth plastic/metal surface contact: rough up one or the other with course sandpaper? not sanding away, but rather scratching? HUGE lightbulb going on: Plast clamp taking a "set" after clamped tight... makes all the sense in the world! no matter what is done usi...

Re: THE NEW MAKO IS HERE!!!

Still waiting for mine (missed the sale), so I'm only going on pictures... I create prototypes for corporate clients for a living at my home based shop/studio...and I can totally imagine the issue and the problem holding the router in place... The strategy of something rubbery/friction makes sense.....

Re: THE NEW MAKO IS HERE!!!

haven't ordered yet but I've done a TON of research! Ebay vendor (solar.jean) has a 65mm (diameter), 1.5kw (2hp) water cooled spindle INCLUDING the VFD Inverter (the device that controls the DC brushless motor) for $265 plus $50 S&H... (I am not recommending this vendor as I have no experience but h...

Re: THE NEW MAKO IS HERE!!!

Agreed... Another (soon to be) Mako owner wanting a place to find out more ,learn more and share more... (I'm going straight to a water cooled spindle with cooler system)... I find that after browsing most of the threads here and learning so much that I am now coming here just to search for info, fe...

Re: MAKO

Can you please "define" "limited production" please? I'm waiting for some "checks in the mail" to arrive some time in December to pay for the purchase of the new Mako... I'm not concerned about color or even the great "package deal" (Planning to adapt a water cooled spindle). What I am concerend abo...

Re: MAKO Shark HD-Adjustable bearings

Great questions... I'm right there with you. I had planned on purchasing the HD, but after seeing the Mako, I am now targeting my questions on this new model... Same questions... More power: (bigger motors or just electronics boosting power of the original Shark Pro Plus HD motors...?) Also adjustab...

Re: Planning Pro Plus HD Purchase, bits and probe stylus?

I found quite a few on ebay... The motor is attached to two hoses (clear vinyl type), one is inflow, the outer outflow. The outflow goes to a small pond pump ($30 range, plastic, plugs into the wall and is quiet). From there it goes to a small radiator with a fan. I saw some guy on you tube use an o...
