Re: Buyer Beware
I believe the stop/start function would need to be implemented in the control software from NWA, not in the Vectric design software.

Re: Has anyone ever used thier Shark to create. ..
I've never done a clock but do the inlays ever cause issues with balance on a part or are they done on parts that aren't critical? They look great and interesting to use the CA like that.

Re: Problem with 3D milling
Is it possible that your safe Z height is set too low? Looks like the line happens as the bit is moving to a different area of the carving. Others will have better ideas.

Re: Bit Selection
What type of tool path were you using, VCarve or pocket? For most text, I use a 90 or 60 degree V bit as tonybell mentioned. Using a v carve path might be the easiest way to start, try using a 60 or 90 degree bit and pay close attention to the preview if using a Vectric product. If you use a VCarve ...

Re: Power failure
If you set your start point at the corner as suggested, you can use the first tool you plan to use and make a shallow drill tool path at the start point. This will make a small indentation that will make it a bit easier to line up if you have to start over after a power failure. If needed, jog the h...

Re: Buying a used shark
I just sold my Shark to an individual. There wasn't a formal process for transferring the controller software from NextWave. The new owner just uses the specific controller information as if they were the original owner (serial numbers) and installs the software and registers. For Vectric products, ...

Re: zero out spoil board
To that same point, Is there a way to set the 0,0,0 point and not have the bit start there? Regards Peter. It might be worth a call to NextWave to confirm but I was having the same question and running the 2.0 version of the Shark Controller software. I was told that the 2.1.17 version which I beli...

Re: Skull Art
Haven't ordered from here yet but this supplier sells small sizes of Precision Board. I have talked via email and they seem responsive, turns out it is less than an hour from me so going to pick up a few pieces to try out.

Re: Rockler #44911 bit set feed rates
Not sure about a table for those specific bits but feed speeds and RPM are going to be very dependent on what you're carving, type of wood, depth of cut, etc. Having said that, I have this bit set and used the default rates in the software I believe when I added them to my tool database as a startin...

Shark Controller on Apple
I'm selling my Shark and have been asked if I know of anyone that is running the Shark Control 2.X control software on an Apple or MAC computer? I've seen posts that indicate some are running V-Carve or Aspire in a partition on an Apple product but didn't find anything about the control program. Tha...
