Re: Laser Processor not showing in drop down box

Look in the Postp folder, which contains the post processor files. Here's how you get to it:

You just need to copy over the Piranha file that you added to your last version so it exists in your new version.

Re: X axis slop

Could be the T-nuts are going.

Run through the tightening procedures mentioned in this thread to ensure you didn't overlook something.

If that doesn't work, the end of the thread describes procuring new T-nuts. Good luck.

Re: CNC Shark HD Mako Limited Edition (Help)

My ballpark? Maybe $3k? New models are available for not much more, but I don't know if they include VCarve anymore. Someone sold a similar setup a few years back for that much, but that was a while ago. http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=31786 I have a lesser model and haven't kept up with pri...

Re: CNC Shark HD Mako Limited Edition (Help)

No problem. You have some nice equipment on your hands. Transferring licenses may be a bit of a pain, but it's well worth the time for what you'll get for it, whether you keep or sell. I don't know how you'd go about shipping that. If you find a forum user who's local, I'm sure you'll get some inter...

Re: CNC Shark HD Mako Limited Edition (Help)

My condolences on your grandfather. I don't know that I can be a ton of help, but I can identify what you have. For starters, everything looks very clean and in good shape. The main machine is called a CNC machine or CNC router. It has an extruded aluminum bed and includes a router. When you sell, y...

Re: Struggling with dust collection setup

Is it possible to add a smoke detector inside the enclosure, or will the dust trigger it constantly? It would be nice to have an indication of fire before everything is melted and the fire is out of control.

Re: A shark hogging aluminum. Yeah right.

That sounds fantastic. The lack of gantry stiffness has almost made me a little jealous of the Axiom CNC line. What a great upgrade. I've never attempted any metal cutting. The baseline Shark has an MDF bed, prohibiting liquid lubrication/cooling. I'm also using a router, rather than a true spindle....

Re: A shark hogging aluminum. Yeah right.

Thom! You're back! It's great to hear from you again. That's an impressive upgrade. Would it work for the original Shark series? It's what Bob and I have. I still frequent these forums, but my CNC machining time has been divided by a 3d printer and a laser cutter. It's the trifecta of creative home ...
