I do not have the HD4 but do run the HD3 on a windows 10 laptop and had an issue with the USB ports powering down. Try going into the device manager and go into the Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Check out Rockler. They have been having a class every Tuesday evening (except the 2nd Tuesday of each month when the CNC users group meets). I have learned a lot there.
