Is there any chance that you could post your .crv file (V-Carve or Aspire File)? So that we may look over your design file for any discrepancies that may lead to your problem area.

Re: VCarve CNC Glitch?
I guess I'll just have to make another one and see if it happens again.

Re: VCarve CNC Glitch?
My original point is center, and this happened before I changed bits.Kayvon wrote:Are you sure it's not your safe Z? If your origin point is the top corner and you're changing the Z to a lower position when you change bits, it could easily happen.

Re: VCarve CNC Glitch?
@Rando, It was towards the end of the first stage (first file), I have 3 files since I have to change bits 3 times. @Tonydude, great idea! I will post the first file. I didn't hang around for the first program, as it was the longest. I was there for the last 2 files, which were the words and the cut...

VCarve CNC Glitch?
Hello. I did my first real CNC cut today and there was a glitch. I have the Piranha XL and I have to change the bit 3 times for this sign. Anyway, if you look at the top left of the sign, you'll see where the bit took out a piece of the border and I'm not sure why and how to prevent that in the futu...

Re: Securing wood to the CNC router
See the 2 attachments. I haven't cut the mounting bolts yet, but you get the idea. I cut the length to 25" so i can mount a full 24 inch work piece and I can still use a clamp on the spoil board. I used 1/2 inch MDF, but there is a tiny bow in the center, so I'm thinking about drilling two holes thr...

Re: Securing wood to the CNC router
Thanks for all the replies. I think I'll put a 1/4 spoil board on there the length of the Pirahna, and have it extend a few inches past the front, and mount a board to the front of it, and screw from the top down into the front mounted piece (hope this makes sense). I saw a video on youtube where th...

Securing wood to the CNC router
I have a recently purchased CNC Pirahna XL and it's supposed to route up to 12x24, however, I don't see how to secure that size of wood. The front of the Pirahna XL is flush, so you can't use any kind of vise to secure the wood. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
