Re: Calling all CNC Users for GUI change to Shark Control Pa
The Vectric Vcarve and Aspire programs are NOT the GUI... they are simply the design programs that are the most popular with CNC enthusiasts. The "Gui" or Graphical User Interface for the Shark machines is pretty poor. It works but there are no frills whatsoever. I believe the Shark control program ...

Re: formatting SD card
Hi, AJR did not give you a decent answer. Buying a new card just to have one that is formatted is silly. To format an SD card, insert it into any laptop or desktop with an SD card slot and right click on the drive letter the card is in. You will see a menu item for formatting the card. Choose FAT fo...

Re: Vector-Schmector
HiTest,
Sorry, didn't mean to get you all revved up. If I understand your description you may just have to select the curved vector and select profile toolpath and select inside or outside. That's about all there is. What did you actually try?
Have an awesome day Test!!

Re: Vector-Schmector
Hitest Mike, Let me guess... you're just a way too busy guy and just never had the time to look at the Vectric tutorials. I recommend you do so because they cover all the things you could possibly want to do. Otherwise, as mentioned, when you have a problem, please post the Vectric drawing of what y...

Re: Looking for some help...concave dish
HI, Actually you can cut a dish shape with only Vcarve. With Aspire it's easier. Just draw a tight spiral using Corel Draw or free Inkscape or any other cad/drawing program and import the spiral to Vcarve. Once in, you select a "Flute toolpath" for the spiral shape. Be sure to set the start of the s...

Re: CNC Shark Problem: Toolpath Shift/Jump
Hi PCdude, You need to be just a little more methodical in your troubleshooting. In this case try to isolate electrical and mechanical issues. When you run a job, try it without the router on and the Z just above your workspace. Does it make all it's moves in the X and Y in a repeatable manner? Are ...

Shark Electronics
Hi, I have a two year old Shark and had some questions about the electronics. My Shark uses the NCpod usb board manufactured by Oemtech who looks like they have long gone out of business. Are new Sharks still based on this board and if so, where are they sourced from? Is Oemtech (if still around) on...
