Re: CNC Shark accuracy is off

Well - the box test mentioned above is a good check for the x and y travel. If you find you're out of square with this test, I'd again just gently push the gantry or the motor carriage (depending on the axis you are testing), and see if there is any noticeable movement. If there is, you can tighten ...

Re: CNC Shark accuracy is off

You don't say - but after the slam and drag incident - did you check the system overall for any slop in any of the directions of travel? Also, after this, and even after you swap out the spoil boards, have you checked the angle of the rout to the spoil board - is it perpendicular from different angl...

Re: Sundial

Really interesting project Bill - and appreciate how you've added a lot of visual components to the design. Does seem a little quiet, but as you note, a lot of looking (and probably note taking). Thanks for sharing your work!

I'm not sure I understand the question well enough to comment - can you attach a picture of what you want to achieve?

Re: Multiple Pass - Issues

When you say 'multiple passes' - is this multiple passes, but all coming from the same toolpath? Not that it should matter - but a potential problem if 2 separate toolpaths. What toolpath speed are you using for these 2 passes? What is the bit and what is the per pass cutting depth? I'd also try run...

Re: "Jumps" in cut pattern

Hi Jim, If you haven't already - I'd also look at all the vertices and use the Smooth command on them. If they are just 'points' then the toolpath will try to go to them and then to the 'next' one. You could select all of the vertices along the edges of the legs (while in node editing mode) and tap ...

Re: CNC Shark Pro Plus Machining errors

I'd contact support. You're going to end up going through some troubleshooting steps again - but you may have a defective control box and NWA pretty good about service.
