Can anyone give me a few pointers on importing an image - when i go to the samples it doesnt seem to want to allow me to do that. Is there a library or a place i can go and browse images alread created to purchase?

You might also want to reconsider your choice of material. Softwoods are not the best choice for detail carving. One trick I've used that has worked well for shallow detail text is to put a couple smooth coats of film finish (polyurethane/ varnish / whatever) over the wood. Then I do my carving (so...

spacing on small letters
another question...in engraving some of my small text- i am getting some overlap and splintering between the letters. Is there a way i can increase the spacing on the letters without distorting the words? i see there is 2 options on the drawing panel - but i am not sure which ones to use and how.
