Re: The Exalted Society of Chowed Beds And Clamps
Been there - Done that! Have always used 3/4 mdf sacrificial between bed and project. Use nylon fasteners to hold it in place, have it planed to be co-planar with gantry/router. Have been using 23 gauge pin nails along with clamps for a while now. Keeps the project from sliding if the clamps are not...

Re: Favor to ask
The whole Z axis assembly moves.
When I apply finger pressure to the bit (pressure in the x axis) the bearings lift off of the guide tube. The bearing blocks are tight to the plastic assembly but rock on the bearing/guide tubes.
I am going to attempt to video the motion.

Kudos and Thanks to NWA
Just have to post this... I have been having some issues with my Shark ProPlusHD, as anyone who has read my other posts has seen. I contacted NWA and talked with Jim. I sent in my control box last Monday, had it back yesterday (exactly 1 week after putting it in the mail :D ) They tested it, replace...

Favor to ask
I am still working through the issues with my machine. BTW. GREAT SERVICE from NWA with the control box. Sent it in on Monday, had it back the following Monday (yesterday). They tested it, could find nothing wrong, but changed out the xyz control card anyway, just to be safe I guess. The favor I ask...

Re: Dimensions off between file and actual cuts
Spent this evening going over every nut, bolt, screw, etc. NOTHING was loose, some not as tight as they might have been, but nothing loose. Checked lead screws for operation by hand turning them from one end to the other (talk about boring and finger cramping) all seemed to have about the same torqu...

Re: 24 inch x 24 inch test piece
You were clear, and I appreciate the tip! :D I was just commenting that I had tried the cut a different way in hopes of having something positive result with a change in toolpath, and had those hopes dashed against the rocks of reality once again. :x My growing frustrations with this problem may be ...

Re: Dimensions off between file and actual cuts
I didn't think it was the software, but... I have tried everything I know of at this point.
I will, one last time, check every nut, bolt, screw, set-screw, etc, for loosness.
After that.............NWA gets the box.

Re: 24 inch x 24 inch test piece
I tried your suggestion this afternoon, made NO difference in quality or accuracy of the cut, none at all.
Still have no idea of just what is going on. Been trying every option I can think of. No joy.

Re: Dimensions off between file and actual cuts
I have installed the new control panel. :) I have looked at the node editing function to see if there was something strange in the file that I didn't notice. Nothing I could tell. I have run the same test cuts using the new control panel. I GET THE SAME RESULTS !    :x...
