Re: Wood Clamps. My Design.

May sound like a dumb question, but the surface tool path would eliminate the pocket path you cut to allow the hold down bolt to go thru, unless you are flipping the board over and running that tool path to make the stock thinner. If I am not understanding it correctly, please advise me. It has bee...

Re: Keyhole Slot for hanging. Desktop Vcarve program

If you want a conventional keyhole slot, and have a keyhole t-slot cutting bit, all you need is a single vector with two segments. Start where you want the bit to plunge, click where you want the bit to peak at, then continue back to just slightly offset from where you started. If you try and finish...

Re: Setting the starting point on project

You need to check where the origin (0,0) point is in VCarve, and match that when you zero out each axis on the board. If your origin is in the center of your material in VCarve, then the center of the bit should be moved to the center of the real board you are cutting, then set X and Y to zero. Use ...

Re: zero out spoil board

You don't need to be on your material to set Z at the bottom of it. Anywhere just outside the board on the spoilboard can be used.

Re: Z Axis control has lost it's mind...

Have you updated the control software recently? There was at least one point where I gave up on Virtual Z because of unpredictable results like you describe. Try it once without doing the Virtual Z touch-off routine and see if you get a normal cut. It sounds like whatever is being calculated is crea...

Re: Need help with some things...

Sounds like you didn't have the bit tight in the collet.

Re: Z axis goes stupid...and I may have found a workaround

You have either hit the bottom of the Z-travel as Bob said, or you may have debris piling up behind the router mount that prevents the bit from reaching the bottom of potential travel. I've also had one instance where something got on the threaded rod that pulls the router left and right stop the ro...

Re: Installing shark controller 2.0 on Windows 10

I believe you still have to install a USB driver you can download from their site before the controller can be seen by the control software. This page: http://register.nextwaveautomation.com/ Look for vcredist. Ignore that it says for XP or below. They haven't updated that since XP was the latest ve...

Re: Control Panel stopped working

Registration codes are stored in what I believe is the My Documents folder of the logged in user. If you've deleted anything in documents, re-configured your PCs login, or just had a bad day it might explain the sudden failure to find reg info. You say old reg codes don't work, but I'd check to see ...

Re: Axis Direction

If your cables are marked and matched to the inputs, then something is wrong with either the marking of the cables or labelling of the control box inputs. Try swapping the Z cable with the X cable at the control box inputs. Z is the vertical axis. In Jog mode of the control software PGUP should move...
