Re: Black Diamond gantry upgrade
IMO, there is no reason for both. The aluminum will work great.

Re: Updated Control Software - v2.1 Performance Review
I agree, Joe did a great job. SCP 2.1 build 10 is the latest. I ran my first full project on it today and the results were perfect. Joe, if you ever come to MA, I'll buy you lunch. You earned it. Great work!!!

Re: 4th Axis/Rotary Project Setup
Thank you Joe. You provided a perfectly clear explanation of the operation. I'm not a member of the 0.001" club. LOL I'm not opposed to having that kind of accuracy. I see a lot of improvements in the Shark HW and SW that are moving in that direction. I'm a hobbyist and may well not represent the ge...

Re: 4th Axis/Rotary Project Setup
Hi Joe, I am waiting to see how this will work with the 4th axis on the Shark. The wrap gadget assumes that the wrap occurs around either the x or y axis. You then select the proper post-processor to perform the cut. The NWA approach allows the setup to run across both axes. It seems to me that this...

Re: Units mismatch at startup, v2.10
That's good news Kevin. I still haven't had much test time so I appreciate your efforts. Joe brings up a good point about measuring the resulting part. I hope to have some time this weekend. Work interferes with the fun things in life.

Re: Units mismatch at startup, v2.10
Hi Kevin,
Thank you for the updated information. Your calculations are correct. I believe that their calculations must have placed this point into the wrong triangle.
Did Version 2.01 release 001 do this math properly?
Regards,
Ed

Re: Units mismatch at startup, v2.10
Hi Kevin, I am sorry that you are experiencing problems. I tried several tests but I couldn't reproduce what you observed. I admit that the data that you presented doesn't look correct. I placed a block on the table and raised the left side along the x-axis (when facing router). The pitch over a 3" ...

Re: Units mismatch at startup, v2.10
The latest update v2.1 Build10 resolves a number of issues including the offset. Hats off to Thom for testing the millimeters for us, so I could debug the thing. Fantastic work Joe and the NWA test team. There are many features that have been fixed and/or improved. This includes the elimination of ...

Re: Bob's Super Simple 4th Axis
Hi Rod, thank you for your reply. I haven't tried any of this. I'm just thinking out loud. Maybe one might be able to use the wrapping gadgets as follows. Create the correct diameter and length piece. Unwrap this and then create the 3D features. This may be wrapped for visualization and then unwrapp...
