Re: Set Up Question from a New User
Yes Jack, that's a very likely culprit. "Back in the day" as they say, we had to actually copy a file (think it might have been a driver or something) and you could only see the location it needed to go if you were running with administrator authority on the computer. It sounds like they streamlined...

Re: Set Up Question from a New User
I don't know that I know enough to really make a good diagnosis but it almost sounds to me like you may be using the wrong post processor setting in VCarve that is generating your tap file for the Shark Control Panel to use. (or maybe a driver that wasn't placed in the right place on the computer ru...

Re: Power failure
The best way by far, in my opinion is to have a UPS. Personally, I use a 1500va model with sine wave output (motors tend not to do well with modified or stepped square wave.) There are all kinds of theories and possibilities and what ifs but when it comes down to it, a one second power outage would ...

Re: 1/8th Dremel bits for engraving / carving
My biggest concern would be the run-out of a collet adapter. Theoretically everything would be concentric but many collets that come with routers and even more so, collet adapters, are mass produced parts and when you begin to check them closely, they can have sometimes several thousands of an inch ...

A Tribute to "Little Dolly"
I know none of you out there have had pets that you regard almost as highly as you do a family member but I have had several. More recently I lost my "Little Dolly". My best friend gave me a 3D crystal "etching" (not sure exactly what the formal name is for this art style) that was made from a photo...

Re: Acrylic carving question
A real sharp endmill type cutter might do a little bit better and possibly a slower feed rate might help (although with acrylic there may be a point at which the plastic begins to melt instead of cut if you go too low). Smaller step-over will also help but will drive your carve time up exponentially...

Re: zero out spoil board
That question has been posed several time and I think if you dig far enough down to find out the full answer you will find that it is "NO" you can not. It is actually related to the fact that the Shark runs the g-code that is generated by V-Carve Pro, which is a third party company and for some reas...

Re: Skull Art
Hi Rod, I know I might be able to find it if I searched the forum, but what kind of foam did you use. Is it a sign foam board that is high density?? Project really turned out nice. I'm sure you know but there are some basic one color controls that can dim and also uses RF signal instead of the IR si...
