Re: Simple Cuts for You all...
Hiya Dash. Yeah, I haven't posted in awhile but I read late at night. Seems like that's the only free time I have these days. lol I'm not understanding "nodes on the backside" thing. Maybe it's another 'easy stuff' that you talked about, right? How about you post your .crv so we can take a...

Re: Simple Cuts for You all...
At first I thought it was something else so I had a different picture but then I thought it looked like a barrel rack on a gun cabinet and did this instead.

Re: Sign making
This can still be saved (along with the stain) by applying a couple coats of whatever finish you use then applying paint. I use lacquer which dries fast, and would use an acrylic paint applied with a brush and any over-painting immediately wiped off. Don't do an overall spray with the paint and expe...

Re: Shark Pro Plus for sale
Even though I don't post much these days I have to jump in and agree with Ralph and Bill. I've had the Shark Pro Plus for 18 months now and have yet to have a serious problem that was the fault of the machine. There are some weaknesses and anyone who owns a Shark and uses it consistently knows those...

Re: Plaque for my sister's addtion
Very nice piece. I like the cherry too. Hard to beat it for this kind of job.
One added step -- a shot or two of of your satin lacquer in the cut before the stencil ink -- will seal it against the smallest bleed.

Re: Jog problem
If you're using a cordless mouse, check the batteries.
When they begin to get weak they can cause this problem.

Re: experience with laminate flooring
Actually no, I don't use flooring. I have a box of bamboo flooring that was given to me but I've never had a chance to do anything with it. Just not enough time to experiment these days. That's a good thing though because it means we're busy, productive and selling our items. I had thought to do som...

Re: Need some help with stain
Just a little side-note about poplar -- you can alter the color of it by exposing it to strong sunlight for a few hours. Like cherry, it will get darker the longer it's exposed. I've done this several times when poplar was the customer's choice but cherry was the look they wanted.

Re: Need some help with stain
I don't see a huge difference but that could be lighting. You can lighten it a bit with some lacquer thinner. Paint thinner will move a little of the color but not much. Lacquer thinner or a good (spray) gun wash is the ticket. Gun wash is usually a pretty volatile mixture of lacquer thinner, aceton...
