Notice today a new update for the Shark Controller. Fixes for the Black Diamond Shark and Dell Win8 PCs. Haven't Installed it yet. Just hoping NextWave might speak up about are any improvements in there of benefit for the common Shark HD, HD 2.0, and earlier machine owners?
Otherwise I'll wait for 2.0, and speaking of that this is the 15th. Someplace to buy it?

Re: New Controller Update 1.5.0.23j
Well, 23j doesn't meet all of the goals for NWA. The 'fix' for the Black Diamond is that the Black Diamond is now a choice on the registration panel.
The Dell Win8 PC issue is related to the Firmware Updaters 2082 that was posted on the Downloads page the other day with somewhat cryptic note about using it if in contact with NWA support. That was supposed to be a part of 23j as well. It isn't.
NWA is aware of the issue at this point. There are no other changes of benefit for users not in these boats.

Re: New Controller Update 1.5.0.23j
NWA has posted a new version of 23j on their Downloads page - http://www.nextwaveautomation.com/DownLoads.aspx.
This version adds the Shark Diamond model to the registration panel as a model choice, and includes a new firmware updater - 2082.
If you do not own a Diamond, or you have not experienced a problem using the Shark Control Panel 1.5.x with a computer using the Win8 operating system, there is no need to download and install this version of the Shark Control Panel.
If you are a Diamond owner, or have purchased a new computer (some Dell laptops seem to have this quirk in their USB hardware), then you will want to download and install this version of the Shark Control Panel. After installation, and with your Shark Control Box connected to the computer via the USB cable and turned on, you will want to run the CNC Shark Firmware Updater program from /Programs/CNC Shark Control Panel.

Dells underpower their USB ports.
Run through a powered USB hub so as not to worry.
