importing bitmaps

I am thinking of getting a new laptop, most all new ones come with windows 8. My concern is will I be able to import clip art, make vectors and toolpaths on the win 8 and then down load them on a flash stick and then down load them to my windows xp that I have hooked up to my cnc controller and have every thing come out right? Thanks for any info.

Sure. The only way you couldn't is if you tried to open a 7.0 vcarve file with 6.5 vcarve software. Windows 8 doesn't care what files you save. Another program is used to open and utilize those files. So you will be fine.
