tool path problem

Post by jimbob45 »

I am having a serious problem with aspire trying to do tool paths. I am using a 1/8 bit to cut out an interior part. Everything is great ,all vectors highlight etc. When I go to calculate it gives the following:
"NO TOOL PATH GENERATED FOR CURRENT PARAMETERS. CHECK TOOL CAN FIT INTO SELECTED VECTORS AT MACHINING DEPTH. I am cutting a piece of 1/4" plywood a depth of .255'
My tool info reads as follows Diameter 0.125 cutting parameters pass depth 0.125 inch step over 0.05 inches 40.0 % spindle speed 12000 feed rate 100.0 plunge rate 30.0
Any idea why this is happening? I have used these settings for other jobs and had no problems.
Help please Jimbob in Pensacola

Any chance you can post the file? What kind of tool path are you trying to create? Profile or pocket or something else?

Your cutter is probably to big to fit into the area your trying to cut. Specify a smaller dia. cutter and see if it will cut.
