Tool Definition

Post by kguarnotta »

Hi Guys, I'm new to the CNC world.
I just got the CNC Black Diamond. It came with 5 bits, and I'm trying to figure out how to enter the tool definition, or is there a spot to find them online?

Specifically I'm trying to figure out what they are calling the 45 deg chamfer bit. I think this is the perfect bit for a project I'm working on, but I can't see how to program it into the software.

Take a look at the Magnate web site. They have a large selection bits with profiles.

If it is a 45 degree chamfer bit that comes to a point, the tool list is already set up for it as a 90 degree 'Vee' bit.
You can add a new bit, choose 'Vee' and enter the proper sizes.

If not, you can draw your own profile and enter that. I created a video showing the process, you can find it on the Skill Building page of my website: http://www.consultingwoodworker.com/skill_building
