How do I save my VCarve file as a .tap

Post by ruggs15 »

I can't figure out how to save my VCarve file with a .tap extension. If I select Save As, .crv is the only optoin. If I select Export I can export to a .eps, .dxf, or .ai. What am I missing?

Thanks!

You don't save your VCarve file as a .tap. You save it as a VCarve. The tap files are created within VCarve in the Toolpaths side of the application under Toolpath Operations. You should find a Little icon with a diskette on it, that's the save toolpath button. If you can't figure it out give me a call between 5-9pm Pacific Time and I'll walk you through it.

You will create a separate tap file for each bit. I even break it down by each element.

Go to the Shark video page and watch "Cutting Out Parts". In it I outline how to output the G-Code for the machine.
