Feed rates- imported vectors vs. shapes created in vectric

Post by benaroh »

I'm using vectric, and it seems my shark cuts certain files faster than others.

For instance- if I create a circular file on vectric it cuts out at a good speed.
However certain imported vectors cut much much slower- even after I "curve fit" the vectors.

The toolpaths are very similar, one is not significantly more complex than the other.
I am using the same bit, saving both toolpaths together. One cuts slow, the other fast. I just can't seem to figure out why!

Well- I found the solution.

I ended up offsetting the vector outward .001. And then curve fitting the vectors with a circular arc. Cuts at normal speed now

Your Problem is probably Feed Rates.
Look for The F codes in the different files. That is what controls the speed of the cut.
Remember F codes are modal in that they stay in effect until changed by another F code.
when you moved it out 0.001 Vectric would recalculate the file to what ever feed rate it is using.
