new Piranha and want to purchase Vcarve.

Post by txsteel »

I purchased a new piranha directly from a local Rokler store today. I would like to up grade to the Vcarve pro before registering the 2d software. I was told I will need to send the 2d software in wile they shipe the Vcarve. Is there anyway to do this and still try to try out the cnc?

Sorry about the late reply. The answer is yes. All you need is a tap file generated by someone else. Transfer it to a thumb drive then plug that drive into your Piranha pendant.
You can try this file...it says txsteel. It's about 6 inches wide 2 inches high. Do an air cut first. Then use a 90 V bit.

I believe you can try out any vectric software on a demo basis.
That may tide you over till your regular version arrives.

I was never offered any sort of upgrade to vcarve when I bought my piranha back in mid December and of course my cut 2d is now registered. :?

What kind of offer were you given? If I were to wish to upgrade what options might I have?

Vectric themselves will let you upgrade up their software scale for essentially the difference in retail price.

You don't need to go back to NextWave or send in your unopened Cut2D box.

I have a VcarvePro and Cut3d that came with my HD. I have never registered it since I went straight to Aspire.
If anyone is looking for this, I'll sell it for $200. Just PM me.

thanks everyone for the replays. I did a couple cuts with some of Vectric's samples. I have a lot to learn.

Joe,

I got the upgrade for $250. It shows on their site as $450 if your Vcarve is registered, but I thought she told me it would be $400 as they are running a special.
