Trim 3d Component in VCarve Desktop 10?

Have a 3d component from an .stl file (purchased) that exceeds the size of my design. I looks like Vectric made it possible to trim a component to a vector but I can't figure it out, and I'm tired of watching tutorials that don't cover this. Found instructions to do it in Aspire, but I don't have that, I have VCarve Desktop v.10.

Is this possible? Thanks!

Jim,
It sounds like you're describing level clipping.
Go to this site: https://www.instagram.com/designandmakeit/
Then scroll down to this window:

You will find an excellent tutorial on level clipping. Don't just watch it. Draw along with the lesson. Pause, go back, repeat if necessary. this is the lesson where I learned level clipping.

Here's another one Jim:

Some of the information overlaps the other tutorial. Both are good sources.
