Larry,

Sort of... but there's more! The limited MAKO uses a different color polyethylene along with some other differences.

• New CNC Shark Controller that will enhance the CNC experience.
• Enhanced electronics for smoother movement, more power and 50% more speed to motors.
• Enhanced adjustable bearings to give more stability during heavy cutting.
• Gantry has been redesigned for a sleek angled look.

Are we able to download the new 2.0 Controller software or any of the upgrades. I got my Shark HD 8 months ago, love it but would like to make a few upgrades if it makes the machine a better performer

How I understood Tim was the new controller software is not going to be available for the older control box, but then again I’m not 100% on that, time and testing will tell... Of course, any updates will be listed on Next Wave Automation’s download page when they become available.

The design appears to be interesting with 1 plus and 1 potential minus.

The plus looks like more of the rear section of the table can be utilized for cutting with the "lean back" design.

The minus would seem to be if you wanted to cut dovetails or other joints into a board mounted vertically off the end that this configuration wouldn't allow to reach that far. By eye it seems that this configuration would keep the vacuum attachment fully on the table at all times.

We'll see more maybe when Nextwave adds the specs to their site.

Argh,...

My brand new shark HD still sits in the boxes that it arrived in on Tuesday. (purchased with 892 router, touch plate and additional clamps for table bed. I didn't get the dust boot as my budget was getting stretched)

I'm hoping that NextWave is willing to work with me on this and exchange the one sitting here for the "New" model. I sent them an email explaining my buyers remorse.

I'm definitely interested to know if they've improved the bed of the table.

In any case, I'll wait to hear from them and see if they will make a switch. (Or does this sound like I'm going to be fighting Goliath on this?)

I was all set to order the HD Pro last week when I saw this post. It appears that my procrastination was a blessing this time. I like the sound of the updates they have included in this model.

Can anyone tell me if everything that is included in the HD Pro is included with this model? Specifically the Vectric software VCarve Pro and Cut 3D? It is not mentioned on the Rockler site and is not included in the “What’s in the Box?” section.

Thanks,
Roger

Hi Roger,

Yes, the software is included just like all the other Shark models - and thanks for pointing that out. I will have the internet folks fix that.
