While We are Sharing Clamp Designs

Post by Consultingwoodworker »

Here is a photo of mine in use:

They are just disks made of 1/2" ply with a rabbet cut around the rim. Low profile, and super easy to make. The rim holds the stock down and the shoulders help keep the stock from moving side to side.

For thin stock, I flip them over.

If one edge gets chomped, just rotate to a new edge. Looks like a good design for me.
Thanks for posting this idea Ralph.

I like them, Ralph. Looks like one edge has already met the bit. Offset the center hole a little and you'll have more options for how far the piece is from the slots the clamps are in.

In the original design, I re-wrote the code for the rim cut so that it cuts from 1/8" down to 3/8 and back up.

In use, I found this to be an unnecessary complication. Cutting the rim to be just under 1/4" works just fine.

Glad you like them.
