Adjusting steps per mm - X axis?

Post by chargedmr2 »

Hi guys,
I have an HD510 (converted from an HD4). I'm running the latest firmware and have Ready2Control Basic. Is there a way to adjust the steps per millimeter traveled for the X axis. I read that this was possible with some of the older machines. What about the newer ones? I need to resolve inaccuracy in the X axis, plus it would be nice to have access to all of the additional settings that might be software hidden.
Thanks!

Your issue is a lead-screw issue. English, metric, price point, etc... IF you can get your issue resolved firmware-wise, please let us know. That failing, a work around is to measure what you want and what you get and select->all, scale by those numbers. go for towards the max you can cut dimnesion wise, the greater the delta between what you want and what you get the closer you can scale for machine "drift". I can hold +/-.002 over 36"(y-axis HD520) and +/-.001, after measuring and scaling appropriately, not each project, but once overall, not per-project.

Crude workaround for a crude controller. Best of luck.

Next, black-lash, what is it and do I even care? Depends what you're doing.
