Re: Creating rounded depressions.
I have waited several days to see if anyone would post to help --- nothing happened so I will give it a go!!!
This can be accomplished using some of the supplied/included clip art (Domes/Dishes) that comes with V-Carve Pro. Problem is with the elongated depression their is no clip art that I can find that would help. If you know someone with Aspire they could create an elongated dome/dish model for you. If you have Aspire you can do all of the models/depressions in that program.
Hope this helps!!!
Have a GREAT DAY!!!

Re: Creating rounded depressions.
We would need sizes. How long is it, how wide is it etc. Than someone will be able to do it. The size of the pockets.

Re: Creating rounded depressions.
Just wondering, could you use 1 or 1-1/4 inch core box router bit?
For the round holes, use the drill tool path and for the elongated holes follow a vector, allowing for the radius of bit on each end.
Each path would probably take several passes but it seems like it would work.

Re: Creating rounded depressions.
This can be done using closely spaced lines and the fluting tool. For this example the lines start at the edge and end at the center. As the bit has a flat end, there will be a slight flat at the bottom. A 1/2" ballnose would eliminate the flat. The actual cut will extend past the line ends by the bit radius. You can check the actual length of the cut in the preview view. Put your cursor on the edge of the cut and read the coordinates at the bottom of the window.
