Max feed rate

Post by MDHunt »

Can anyone tell me the maximum feed (moving of the gantry) rate that the Shark HD4 is capable of?

Thanks

It's rated a 200 ipm, but i really don't think you could cut that fast without a lot of flex in the gantry and router bit chatter. It's just not that sturdy to go that fast.
If you took very shallow passes, you could probably make it work!

Also, if you do 3D models the speed is going to be determined by the z axis that controls it, because of the ups and downs. If you look at your tool data base look at your plunge rate that is what determines your speed. If you set your z plunge rate to 80 than your speed will be 80 doing 3D work. Just doing signs it's different faster speeds as set in your tool data base on your bits.
