There is a fuse. What shark do you have on my hd it is by where the cord plugs in to control box

I believe it is the Shark II. I found the fuse at the switch on the back. A little "drawer" slides out (with some prying). There was a spare. However I don't know what to get as a new spare should it happen gaain
