engraving bit sources

The photoVcarve tool database has the 2 smallest engraving bits
listed - 1/8" diam. 60deg.0.004 tip &
- 1/4" diam. 22.5' 0.01" but I cannot seem to find a
Canadian or US supplier for them. I basically need a good supplier
for these small ball-nose bits - 1/4" shank for the CNC Bosch router.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi John,

I purchased a few for engraving/lithography from Onsrud. I got this idea as a result of reading several posts and methods on the Vectric forum. Other folks have similar bits. The one I like the most is a1/4" shank 30 deg. Some posts talked about how the tip would snap off a bit pretty quickly and then they'd have the 'perfect' lithography bit.

You can of course use ball nose bits, and I suspect the Amana changeable blades would work well also. Now that I think about it, some of the Amana blades I have may be just as good, and perhaps better on the wallet than a long and narrow v bit.
