Malfunctioning Z axis

Post by -VolkoV- »

I've had my CNC Shark Pro Plus for about a week and a half and am already having problems. When "jogging", the Z axis responds randomly. I can click and hold "Z +" and it will ramdomly move up or down, sometimes both during the same click and hold. I've also had Z axis problems in the middle of running a program. Somtimes programs will run correctly and sometimes the router will plunge into the workpiece at a depth greater than the program calls for, ruining the workpiece and snapping the cutter.

Has anyone experienced any of this?

Any information is greatly appreciated.

I have not heard of this one.
Is this consistant or just happen now an again?
If you want you can have us test it out at the factory.

It's weird. It's not like the commands are completely and consistently reversed. When jogging for instance, if you click and hold Z+, it may go up with no problem. Most of the time it goes up then down then back up like signals are getting crossed.
Does this sound like a loose connection?

you can try moving The X and Z cables and see if the problem moves to the other axis.
But I think it might be a problem with the driver board.

Which would mean I ship back the controller to you for testing?

I switched the x and z cables. It just switched the problem to the x axis.
