Shark HD 2.0 and a very stupid mistake

Last week, I purchased this CNC router. Based on its table size (36 X 28.5) I thought that we could cut those approximate sizes. Turns out, it's max X/Y is 25 X 25. I desperately need to reach 32" in one direction.

We are new at this and although we discussed this with the sales people at Rockler...I guess everyone missed it.

Does anyone know of a slightly bigger CNC? I am on a budget and was okay with Rockler's low entry price of 4,000.

I've even wondered if I could do any sort of engineering to get those extra inches...

Thoughts?

Four possibilities:
1. Spending another $1000 for an extended base upgrade of your HD 2.0 (contact NextWave),
2. Using the tiling toolpath option in Vcarve cut 25", then slide the board to cut what is left,
3. cutting diagonally if your parts are narrow (35"ish corner to corner)
4. investing (probably more $$) in another brand.

Woodwerks (related to Rocker) sells the extended base version: http://www.woodwerks.com/cnc-c-1073.html.
http://wood.baileighindustrial.com/cnc- ... able-wr-23, for their CNC with 39" x 31.5" cutting area.

You can Google for "small cnc" and find a few table-top machines, but generally they cost more for more cutting range.

Good options. Thanks for the information.
