mirror image

Post by russ623 »

I have had my machine for over a year and it has been trouble free till now.
I just moved to a new house and set my Shark, on my first test cut the design cut in the mirror image of the design I have in VCarve Pro.
My cables are correct, I did have some viruses in my computer that I just had cleaned out. VCarve Pre is working fine and all the too paths look correct.
Any ideas?

If you're sure the cables are 'correct' - if you had to disassemble / remove the gantry from the table for the move - I suspect the gantry is 'backward'. If the router carriage is facing away from the table motor, then it is 'backwards' and you're getting this mirror image. You can swap the cables and train yourself that the X and Y are now different (when I first did this I put a piece of masking tape on the table with X and Y and arrows to remind me).

Your right the gantry is backwards, I will switch it tomorrow and try that.
Thanks for the observation.
