New Computer installs

Post by Tim Owens »

We are coming across a couple an intermittent problems that's been happening on newer versions of Dell computers specifically. Typically this is done Windows 7 64-bit Dell insperion. What is happening is there is antivirus which is automatically installed and is running in the background on new machines. Now, with the general installation of the antivirus software in is not automatically updated with the newest virus updates. It will tend to aggressively remove anything out of the system that is attempted to be installed. We recommend that you shut down any antivirus either Norton or McAfee for short time until the installation is completed. If you do not shut the antivirus down our software will install correctly and you will not get an error but the antivirus will quietly remove everything out of the registry.

Another issue that we've seen is people are not running in administrator mode when they install the software. Most computers that do not have more than one person on the machine are automatically in the administrative set up. But depending upon how you set the security it can actually have you in a user mode unless you specify otherwise. Easiest way to make sure is download our software to your desktop right-click on the icon and a list of options will pop up. Click on the run as administrator in this will ensure that you are in the administrator mode
