flashing lights on the controller

Post by jcjenkins3 »

I can't find any documentation as to what it means when the blu and yellow lights on the front of the controller are flashing, the other light is off, and the program thinks the controller is off. Can someone help. Thanks,
Chris

I was never able to find anything on those lights either but in my particular CNC setup the lights usually flash on power up but after I attach usb cable to computer they usually stop flashing and are steady as computer recognizes control box.

Not sure this is in all instance but I hope this at least lets you know that someone else out there has not found any reading on those lights.

Have a GREAT DAY!!! :)

Be SAFE around those AWESOME machines!!! ;)

Blue is powered up indicator. It should be on the entire time the system is up.
Yellow is established communication. It should be on while the control panel is connected.
Red is transmission of data from PC to controller. It lights up only briefly while data is communicated.

Thank you for this - I'd always assumed the red was some kind of error.

I seem to remember Joseph (the control panel programmer) mentioning that when the yellow and red flash, it means (or used to mean?) the SD card had an error. If, when you plug the card into a PC, it claims the card isn't formatted, go ahead and quick-format it. The times the card has thrown an error (far fewer over the last 6-9 months), that fixed it unequivocally.

Cheers!
