Engraving on Acryllic - Bits
Posted: Wed May 16, 2018 11:58 am
I create a lot of Gavels and Sounding blocks out of resin (acryllic). I want to carve saying on the sounding blocks. What is the best bit for engraving? I suspect I'll have to fill in the letters with paint or colored resin in order to show properly. I JUST got my machine this week and I'm very new. I created a file with Have a nice day on it, saved as CNC Shark Arc in, but its not working ATM (I have posted to another thread on that one). I have a Freud 7.5 deg engraving bit, but I've seen more people sticking to the 60 or 90 deg v bit. Also, it appears that VCarve doesn't like to allow for filled letters when doing it on curve (FYI). HELP please.
