My Shark was used when I purchased it. While using it after 4 years, I noticed the Bosch router noise changing pitch up and down some. My experience with other power tools suggested I might have some bearing issues. Taking the router apart, I also noticed the brushes were less than 1/4 the size of a new one.
Investigating on the internet, I found a place selling replacement bearings and brushes for my router for only $12.50 delivered. $12.50 is much better than $150.00 to replace the router.
The bearings were tight to remove but did remove easily. After replacing both bearings and the brushes, all is good now.

Re: Router Rebuild
Brushes and bearings are cheap enough to replace them once a year if needed. Before I got a spindle, I only had to replace the bearings and brushes once in just over a year. I have had my spindle for only about 10 months now, but is is really quiet compared to the router.
