“Lead screw break”

Post by Geniamarc »

My Y axis stopped moving! Reason- broken lead screw. Our shark extended doesn’t have very many hours on it.
Can anyone tell me if we are doing something wrong? Because I don’t want to keep paying $111 for a replacement lead screw.

This is what next wave said when I asked them
“From the few times that we have seen the lead screw break, it was almost always caused by the machine hitting something or becoming too bogged down at the end of the bed furthest from the motor and applied enough torque to break it. Not sure if that is actually what happened on your machine but it is what we have seen when this has happened. ”

The machine stopped at the motor/front end... and I really don’t think it hit something...
Any advice would be appreciated. We are newbies. Thanks!
