Buyback program?

Post by Diabeticmedic »

I heard online that there is a buyback program but I haven't heard anything from next wave about it. Thoughts?

There was some talk about it a few years ago:

I know of two trade-in programs. One is for the Piranha to a Piranha XL:

The other is for a Shark to an HD or Extended:

It has been a while since these offers were posted, so you'll need to call the number on the web page, which was the first step in the process anyway. Upgrading to a larger machine sounds enticing, but I'm reluctant to have to set everything back up the way I want it again. I'd be interested to hear others' experiences, though.

I recently purchased a Piranha from Next Wave and soon realized I wanted something larger. I contacted Next Wave regarding their trade-in policy and was very pleased that they would credit me for my machine upon purchasing a Shark.
As soon as the Shark arrives (which is due to arrive next week) I am to send in my Piranha for credit. I'm sure the amount they credit varies with the age/condition of what you return. As mine was just a few weeks old I was extremely pleased regarding what they offered for mine.

Received my Shark II, Returned my Piranha FX and within two days of Nextwave receiving mine they credited my account. That’s customer service !!
The Shark is really robust and of course allows me to cut larger pieces. I upgraded to VCarve pro and now going to purchase a spindle to get rid of the router “noise” :o
