3D Inlay Illusion

Mahogany Bowl with cherry, walnut and maple inlaid as a 3D illusion. 3 feet carved on the bottom of the bowl.

Very impressive.
Did you create the inlay work with the Shark or just carve the feet with it.

Hi Tim - I turned a mahogany bowl on the lathe. I used the shark to carve the inlay pockets (female half) on the inside fo the mahogany bowl and the inlay inserts (male half) in the cherry, maple and walnut. The shark was also used to carve the feet on the bottom of the bowl and to add the signature and other info on the bottom.

Dang! I was completely fooled, I thought it was 3-D! heheh
