Looking for some honest opinions
Here is a picture I did in photo v carve, but I'm not sure i like the results. Please let me know if you like it before I sanded, after or not at all. Thanks
Re: Looking for some honest opinions
I like both of em, but I think I like the second one better after you sanded it. How long did it take to cut?

Thanks Tony, it took a little over 3 hours to cut it out.

I agree, the second one is better. 3 hours seems pretty long for a v carving in wood though. This one, a 5 x 7 took about 30 minutes.
Being retired is hard work. Spending way too much time in the shop these days. (And loving it).

I agree with Keith and Tony -- I think the second one is better.

Keith, did you use a 90 degree or 60 on the photo carve. I want to do one of my newest granddaughter. Any suggestion on wood type. I have some red oak.

60 degree, just like the tutorial on the Vetric site. I wouldn't use red oak, the grain just doesn't look good too me. Maple, or Birch works very well, Popular is good if you can fine some with a large enough portion of its light gain. Anything light color, and as hard wood as you can find. With soft wood, when you start the sanding process you'll sand the photo away pretty quick.
