What a neat way to stylize a cabinet for a specific purpose.
Nice job.

Very nice job! What bothers me is that all the work that has gone into it but the 3d carving doesn't pop out due to the semi opaque looking finish. Just an idea that I had was maybe take a stain dampened cloth and rub slightly over the 3d carving to kind of highlight it. Its a beautifully designed and well built door but would be nice if the 3d would become the focal point when someone first looks at it. Great work though, thanks for sharing it with us.

Just for my own learning... did you cut the door panel then do the carving? or the other way around?

I did do a little darker stain on the high points it is hard to see in the photo I should of done cabinet darker and lighten the seahorse. I cut the raised panel first than built then did carving and then put frame around it.
