Another segmented bowl

Post by nicholsdh »

41 pieces of walnut and birch. 10 sides. I wanted 10 sides because this would be a challenge for someone without a CNC. Probably should have done an odd number to make it even more challenging for someone without a CNC.

Walnut dowel in the middle to stabilize during milling. Also hid the small defects in the middle. Milled the center and sides on the CNC. Then over to router table with bowl bit and flush trim bit to finish it off.

. Used nesting feature and kept all pieces perpendicular to the grain. Used only a couple of scrap pieces from my shop.
