Superbowl

Post by Bob »

Each year we gather with friends for our annual Superbowl party. This year I'll bring along a football serving/cutting board. I saw something like it on-line, and made my version:

Bob,

That's pretty neat. I might have to make something also for Super Bowl .

Thank you...I really have no idea what kind of wood it is, so I'll call it Mongolian Monkeywood.
And Maple. I knew that one.

Thank you Tony,
I used VCarve inlay for the laces, and an easy inlay for the bands. I'll go post it on the file sharing area.

Looks like the dark wood might be Koa or Teak. Teak is a great choice for such a project.

What a great idea. But I fear the board may crack because you have the grain of the stripes going 90 degs. to the grain of the ball. Good luck and a great idea.

If you are worried about the cross grain issues with the stripes, just make those inlays as well!
