Threaded rod and nut

Post by ruhnau »

The threaded nut was cut with a special 90 deg. side cutter utilizing Paul Roundtree's thread gadget in V carve. The rod was threaded utilizing Bobs 4th axis fixture. The rod thread was cut with a .50 dia 90 deg. vcarve bit after matching the pitch and lead angle of the nut.

This is the link to the gadgets which can be downloaded and moved to the directories as shown in the PDF files
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4nzek25owulofcw/fiVnVXPAmp ( you can copy and paste this into your browser)
Paul Rowntree's web page is http://www.PaulRowntree.weebly.com ( this is where you get the PDF files)
It is somewhat confusing, but it works out in the end. Let me know if you need more help.

Those threads look good. I found the gadget but am having no luck finding "Bobs 4th axis fixture". Is it in the forum somewhere. I saw it mentioned in another thread as well but it did not say how to find it.
Thanks, Tom

Can think of a dozen uses for this. Again, Kurt has really been a pioneer on this 4th axis device. Very nice work on this! :)
