I guy I work with asked me to design and make a iPad holder for his wife for their anniversary.
Has two slots, cut on the table saw, one 60 deg. and one 90 deg. Cut the walnut to fit the iPad in the horizontal position.
Then trimmed the side to close the slots with hickory.
