Looking good. How did you stablize the bark to keep it from coming off in the furture?
Let's revisit the whole "Hope I die before I get old" Thing.

I put exterior marine varnish on it.

So, you didn't put anything on the wood 1st? I've had bark peel back after about 6 years from stuff I didn't stablize first.
Let's revisit the whole "Hope I die before I get old" Thing.
