I have no idea about the longevity of the tips, hope it's long. I did forget about leaving my router turned of and carved three small carvings. After realizing my mistake, did another carving and it looked fine. Course it was acrylic, so pretty soft material.
Being retired is hard work. Spending way too much time in the shop these days. (And loving it).

I f I may chime in.It's always good to have extra diamonds on hand.I remember I was using mine on a brass plate. And it ran off the plate and came back on and I heard a"PICK"
and the diamond was gone.I know in diamond dressers used for grinding wheels.that type when it gets worn it falls out and a new one takes it's place. Not all of them. But Ours have one diamomd only. So I stock 3 Basecircle

I ordered my diamond drag bit from WidgetWorks yesterday afternoon, on Presidents' Day. It arrived UPS today. Wow, they are fast! Looking forward to trying it out this weekend. It came with instructions that seem to be helpful.
