1st Acrylic
Well here was the end results of trying out the acrylic. Now to get some LEDs.
Re: 1st Acrylic
What tool did you use to carve it with? It looks like you carved it from the front instead of reversing the image and carving it from the back. I always reverse the image in the program and I use a .0625 Ball nose bit with a carving depth of .001-.002 deep. Once in awhile I'll use a90 dog v bit.

Looks like the step over on your tool isn't small enough leaving lines when carving.

Re: 1st Acrylic
yep I guessed I messed it up. I used a diamond drag bit from widgetworks with a 90 degree bit. The stepover is what is confusing me the most. If I have it set to 0.0 it gives me a time of 58 hrs for run time. I also used vcarve 7.5 to program it and then used the quick engrave option. I wasn't real sure how to set the diamond bit up to use as an end mill.
Re: 1st Acrylic
It's listed under specialist bits in tool database.see attachment

Re: 1st Acrylic
Thank you soooo much. I was using the specialist setting and selecting the bit but no clue on stepover. Guess it is time for trial 2 lol. I truly do appreciate your insight as the acrylic is a whole new world to me.
Re: 1st Acrylic
looks pretty good to me for the first time. I'm a newbie at all this and have been wanting to try this also, where do you find the file for the harley sign?
