Hi Mark,

That is a great project. Can you describe the steps you took to apply the pin striping?

The pinstriping is just 3, line ovals.
I used a 1/2" - 90deg Vbit at a depth of .03.
Insignia is 1/2" 60deg Vbit at .03 depth
Hand painted the colors then scraped 1st with a single edge razor in a holder.
Used a orbital sander
Then sprayed with acrylic.

Hope this helps.

Mark

That looks great. How did you import the dolphins? Trace them? I have had a hard time importing anything. Advice?

Nice work! I'm doing similar V-Carving work with Corian or other brands of SolidSurface material. and I'm interested in your painting technique. I looks like you also painted black paint on the Dolphin carvings. What kind of paint are using to bond to the Corian? I assume you flood the area and remove the excess from the surface after. I tried this but didn't get nice clean results you achieved. I don't recall what type of paint I used.

Thanks for sharing your project work with us.

Have a great day!

Unfortunately there is no quick solution for the vector I'm using to carve. I used Vcarve Pro and hand drew my vector. I imported photos and other drawings to use a reference.

I'm using One Shot paints. I'm happy with the color saturation. You can buy this in 4 oz cans on Amazon.
It is very toxic so if I am using in my garage with the door closed I wear a respirator for the fumes.

I hand paint my engraving. Let dry overnight. Scrape excess with single edge razor blade. Then sand with 220 orbital sander.

I just started sealing with acrylic finish which really makes it pop.
