Fireside stool
Happy New Year fellow sharkies.
Here's a little oak stool I whipped up so I don't have to squat down to load the wood stove.
This oak was given to me after being stored outside for a while. I hand planed it, no sand paper.
I saw a drawing of oak leaves and acorns and modified it to created an aspire file for the carving.
I also used the shark to scribe the curves at the top and bottom of the legs, then cut them out on the bandsaw.

I love the wood grain- 1/4 sawn ..? very nice pc.
Re: Fireside stool
Yes, quarter sawn oak, 8/4. Three coats of tung oil. The weathering really darkened the grain.

Oh, sorry, thought you were asking for the photograph. Sounds like you would like my original Aspire files. I don't give those away, but might be willing to sell them. Send a private message if interested.
